Alto Products is one of the largest independent aftermarket manufacturers of clutch plates in the USA. As they are in business for more than 40 years, you can be sure that they know all ins and outs of clutches. They developed their Carbonite clutch kits specifically for High-Performance applications. This carbon fiber and nitrated-steel clutch set (hence the name "Carbonite") offers an enhanced initial friction value and enhanced lockup. The Carbonite's steel plates get the same special nitrate treatment as the cores from the bonded friction plates, aimed at preventing them from warping. The nitrated steel also cools and lubricates the clutch, improving the overall feel and performance. Carbonite clutch kits can be used wet or dry, but it's really best suited to wet applications. All kits feature an extra friction disc and an extra steel plate for increased torque taking capacity.
